Andrea Faccetta Tattoo

Professional illustrator and Tattoo Artist

I am a tattoo designer and illustrator based in Santa Barbara, California. He draws on the visual language of classical Japanese woodblock prints: bold line, flowing composition, and the waves, dragons, koi, and heroes of the ukiyo-e tradition. The same tradition shaped Japanese tattooing, since many of the most popular tattoo motifs trace back to early 19th-century Edo, where tattoo artists took inspiration from color woodblock prints. 10 years of international experience in Naples, Italy, London, Indianapolis, Los Angeles. This site presents my portfolio with a collection of 46 original prints, available for purchase.

"Andrea’s prints have a rare combination of discipline and energy. You can feel the Japanese woodblock tradition in every line, yet nothing looks borrowed. The compositions move, the detail rewards a long look, and each piece feels made by someone who has absorbed the tradition rather than imitated it."
